CODE RED SYSTEM was recently established for emergency contact for all islanders and visitors. It works like the reverse 911 system so that if you are registered with this system a notification of emergency conditions will be sent to your contact information.  So please read the article and follow the steps to register your Cell Phone and Home Phone.

In the months of July and August please conserve water. Only water during the early morning hours or evening and adhere to the odd even day schedule. In June 2010 we witnessed an increase of 30% water usage over June 2009.  Look around the web site and read the water conservation tips - this could reduce your overall water bill.
Since the 4th of July due to this heat wave the Oak Bluffs Water District has been watching the water usage. On one day of the July 4th weekend the water usage was over 3 million gallons for one day and since then we have been struggling to keep up with demand. So we strongly encourage water conservation.
